The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) is holding executive council elections in 2025–2026 and 2026–2027, and the Ministry of Commerce has formally established the election board and appeal board for these elections.
The FBCCI election board will be chaired by Md. Abdur Razzak, assistant secretary (IIT) in the Commerce Ministry. Additionally, Mustafizur Rahman, Joint Secretary of the WTO-3 branch, and Mursheda Zaman, Joint Secretary of the IIT-2 branch, are members of the board.
Md. Abdur Rahim Khan, additional secretary (export), will lead the election appeal board. Tanvir Ahmed, joint secretary (administration-2 branch), and Md. Razzaqul Islam, deputy secretary (export-4 branch), will also be on the board.
The FBCCI is the apex trade organisation of Bangladesh, representing the interests of the country’s private sector and acting as a bridge between the government and the business community. It plays a vital role in formulating economic policies, improving trade and investment climate, and promoting entrepreneurship across various sectors.
Notably, the FBCCI has been a key advocate for the Ready-Made Garment (RMG) industry, which remains Bangladesh’s largest export earner. By facilitating dialogue between stakeholders, supporting trade negotiations, and offering policy recommendations, the FBCCI contributes significantly to the growth and global competitiveness of the RMG sector.
