
According to General Administration of Customs of China (GACC), the sewing machine sector of the country has clocked US $ 1.09 billion export revenues in January to April 2022 period.
In the first 4-month period of 2022, the sewing machine exports increased by 13.48 per cent on Y-o-Y basis. Particularly, the export quantity of industrial sewing machines was 1.69 million sets, and its export value was US $ 602 million, at an increase of 12.35 per cent and 32.05 per cent, respectively, compared with a year earlier.
In the first four months of 2022, China’s exports of sewing machines to Asia and South America have increased compared with a year earlier, while exports to Europe, Africa, North America and Oceania have declined.
By regions, China’s exports to the “Belt and Road” markets reach US $ 742 million, increasing 24.22 per cent on a Y-o-Y basis, accounting for 68.12 per cent of the industry’s aggregate exports, 5.89 per cent more than compared with the same period last year.
Exports to the RCEP markets valued US $ 322 million, a Y-o-Y increase of 24.36 per cent, accounting for 35.07 per cent of the industry’s aggregate export, 3.07 per cent more compared with the same period a year earlier; exports to ASEAN countries stood at US $ 322 million, 34.67 per cent higher than the same period last year; exports to South Asia valued US $ 243 million, increasing 24.01 per cent over the same period last year; exports to West Asia amounted US $ 102 million, growing by 61.77 per cent; exports to EU valued US $ 60 million, decreasing by 16.56 per cent.
