
Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Li Jiming recently underlined that the duty-free facility offered by his country to bulk of ‘Made in Bangladesh’ products, which was expanded by one more per cent recently covering new product categories, will help Bangladesh to increase its exports to China.
This was claimed by recent media reports, while adding as per the Chinese envoy this facility will help Bangladesh continuously diversify the export offerings and also better reap the potential of sustainable development.
It may be mentioned here ‘Made in Bangladesh’ apparels account for more than 60 per cent of Bangladesh’s exports to China even if Li Jiming on his part, reportedly, maintained the duty-free access to 97 per cent of goods originating from Bangladesh in the Chinese market since July 2020, already showed a ‘positive effect’ on exports.
