
Faruque Hassan, the President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), emphasised the importance of simplifying business procedures, diversifying exports, and investing in technology to enhance productivity and competitiveness in the industrial sector.
During a recent discussion organised by the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), he called for government policies to align with the evolving dynamics of global business.
Highlighting the remarkable progress achieved by Bangladesh across various socioeconomic aspects due to the industrial sector’s growth, Faruque Hassan expressed confidence in the country’s untapped potential.
He drew attention to the ever-changing landscape of customer preferences, emerging technologies, and global economic shifts, emphasising that industries must adapt to change to remain competitive in the global market.
The meeting, chaired by FBCCI President Mahbubul Alam, included other prominent figures from the business community, such as Md. Saiful Islam (President of the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry), Md. Sameer Sattar (President of the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry), and Mohammad Ali Khokon (President of the Bangladesh Textile Mills Association).
