
Faruque Hassan, the president of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), underscored the potential of exporting readymade garments to Brunei Darussalam.
This observation was made during a meeting between BGMEA President Faruque Hassan and the High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to Bangladesh, Haji Haris Bin Haji Othman.
The meeting was held at the BGMEA office in Dhaka.
During the meeting discussions revolving trade and investment prospects were held between the two sides.
The discussions centred on enhancing bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Brunei Darussalam, recognising the substantial potential for collaboration in trade and investment, which could bring about positive impacts for both nations.
Faruque Hassan, in particular, emphasised the significant opportunity for exporting readymade garments to Brunei Darussalam.
He highlighted the industry’s growing emphasis on enhancing its manufacturing capabilities for high-value garments and expanding its market presence in both traditional and emerging markets.
In this context, Faruque sought the cooperation of the High Commissioner to explore avenues for increasing garment exports to Brunei Darussalam, underlining the mutual benefits that harnessing trade and investment opportunities could bring to both countries.
