The apex garment makers’ body in Bangladesh, the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), underlining the assassination of former Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe is a tragedy not only for Japan but also for Bangladesh and the whole world, expressed its deep condolences.
In a message, BGMEA President Faruque Hassan said Shinzo Abe will be remembered with great respect and admiration for his role and contributions and added with his death, Bangladesh has lost a true friend and a great ally.
On behalf of apparel sector of Bangladesh and BGMEA, the BGMEA chair expressed deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to his family and Japanese people.
“We are deeply shocked and saddened by the sudden death of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe,” reportedly, stated the BGMEA President even as he added Japan has been a long-standing friend of Bangladesh in its journey towards development and the time-tested friendship has grown stronger and warmer over the years.
