
A delegation of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has been accorded a warm reception by Mustafizur Rahman, who is Ambassador of Bangladesh in Switzerland and Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations and other offices in Geneva, at his residence in Geneva recently.
Media reports maintained this adding the BGMEA delegation consisting of Directors Asif Ashraf, Tanvir Ahmed and Abdullah Hil Rakib and led by its President Faruque Hassan, discussed on issues related to Bangladesh’s LDC graduation and probable impact on export markets on account of the same and how Bangladesh can retain preferential market access after LDC transition during their meeting with the Bangladesh envoy.
At the meeting, the BGMEA leaders while thanking the Ambassador for offering them warm welcome expressed hope the Permanent Mission of Bangladesh to the UN Office and other international organisations in Geneva would continue to play proactive role in upholding the interests of Bangladesh in the international arena in the coming days even as the BGMEA President highlighted the need for more economic diplomacy and engagement with Governments and stakeholders at global level to pave the way for Bangladesh’s progress towards prosperity.
Further, Faruque Hassan also, reportedly, emphasised on projecting Bangladesh’s positive developments more at global forums to promote the country.
