Pacific Denimwear Limited, a subsidiary of the Pacific Jeans Group, is set to invest US $ 54.55 million in establishing a readymade garments (RMG) manufacturing unit in Adamjee EPZ.
This initiative marks the ninth venture of the Pacific Jeans Group in Export Processing Zones (EPZs) under the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA), as announced in a press release.
Presently, the group operates eight successful enterprises in Chittagong EPZ, with Pacific Denimwear Limited becoming the first enterprise to venture outside Chittagong EPZ. BEPZA recently formalised this agreement with Pacific Denimwear Limited at the BEPZA Complex in the city.
Ali Reza Mazid, Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA, and Syed Mohammed Tanvir, Managing Director of Pacific Denimwear Limited, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by the Executive Chairman of BEPZA, Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman.
Pacific Denimwear Limited, a locally-owned company, is slated to produce 12.5 million pieces of Ladies Tops, 12.5 million pieces of Men’s/Women’s Formal & Casual Wear, and 3.1 million pieces of Boys’/Girls’ Casual Wear annually.
This venture is expected to generate employment opportunities for 7,970 Bangladeshi nationals.
