
Bangladesh’s export-import activities with India through the Benapole land port will remain suspended for four days till 5 October (Wednesday) even if activities of immigration department at the port will remain as usual during this period.
Reports claimed this citing the concerned port authorities.
Meanwhile, speaking to the media, General Secretary of Petrapole C&F Agents Staff Welfare Association Kartik Chakraborty, reportedly, said “All export-import trade from the Indian side of Petrapole-Benapole border will remain suspended from 2 to 5 October due to Durga Puja vacation,” while adding the trade will resume only from 6 October.
The Immigration Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Benapole, Abul Kalam Azad, on his part, reportedly, underlined due to Puja holidays, the movement of passengers to and from India will remain normal even if transportation of goods will remain suspended.
