The Government of Bangladesh has revised the cash incentive rate for 14 sectors that also include apparel industry to increase exports from the country. Exporters were reportedly given BDT 34 billion in cash incentive in 2014-15 FY. The incentives have now been reduced on finished jute products from 10 per cent to 7.5 per cent, on jute yarn from 7.5 per cent to 5 per cent, on leather products from 15 per cent to 12.5 per cent. 10 per cent cash incentive will be given to exporters on condition that at least 75 per cent of their raw-materials should comprise jute.
