Continuing the stronghold in denim apparel exports to USA, Bangladesh has performed the best amongst top four denim shippers in October ’20.
According to data compilation and analysis of Apparel Resources, Bangladesh’s earning from denim apparel shipment to USA was US $ 72.09 million, marking 6.88 per cent yearly growth in October ’20.
Markedly, the growth has come despite USA falling by 7.32 per cent in its denim apparel imports during October month, which valued US $ 328.13 million.
All other top denim shippers to USA – Mexico, Vietnam and China – tumbled in their respective exports in October ’20 on Y-o-Y basis.
The second top shipper was Mexico which plunged by 25.89 per cent to ship US $ 52 million worth of denim garments to USA in October ’20.
It’s worth mentioning here that Mexico has continuously been falling in its denim garment shipment to USA in 2020 month after month, which is a serious trouble for the country’s denim industry.
As far as Vietnam is concerned, the country was down by 3.10 per cent on Y-o-Y basis and its denim apparel shipment to USA totalled US $ 41.68 million in October ’20, while China declined by 24.73 per cent to accommodate US $ 37.91 million worth of denim apparels to USA in the reviewed month.
