
Even as bilateral trade volume between Bangladesh and Mexico stands only at US $ 300 million, there’s lot of untapped potential and business leaders of both the countries have stressed on increasing the bilateral trade.
According to reports, they made the observations at a recent webinar titled ‘Bangladesh & Mexico: Potential & Opportunities,’ while underlining bilateral trade between the two has the potential to reach the US $ 1 billion mark within a few years.
In the webinar, business leaders of Guadalajara, which is the third-largest metropolitan city of Mexico, participated and, reportedly, showed interest to import apparels apart from other products from Bangladesh even as delivering a presentation on the socio-economic development of Bangladesh, Bangladesh Ambassador Abida Islam highlighted the potential of important sectors including apparel, leather and footwear, jute products, pharmaceuticals, etc.
