The bilateral trade between Bangladesh and Korea is all set to touch new high even as according to the statistics by the Korea Trade Association, between January and November this year, the trade volume between the two countries recorded US $ 2.014 billion from that of US $ 1.303 billion from the corresponding period of last year, registering 54.6 per cent increase.

Media reports maintained this adding in 2020, Korea’s export to Bangladesh rose by 61.9 per cent to US $ 1.51 billion from US $ 1.033 billion even if Bangladesh’s export to Korea increased by 35.8 per cent to US $ 498 million from US $ 393 million.

It may be mentioned here the principal export item from Bangladesh to Korea is garment (accounts for 81 per cent of total export to Korea) apart from bronze scraps, and sports and leisure items even if garment export increased by 32.4 per cent, sports and leisure items increased by 92 per cent and bronze scrap rose by 175 per cent.
