Garment accessories makers and packaging industry in Bangladesh might get a cash incentive from the Government soon so as to keep unhindered the present export trend of the readymade garment sector.
This is as per reports, which cited sources that are in know of things, according to whom the garments accessories and packaging industries are likely to enjoy the incentive facility from fiscal year (FY), 2023-24 even if the Ministry of Commerce (MoC) has recently written to the Ministry of Finance for providing the facility while also suggesting to prepare a combined circular for apparel sector.
Reports further added a decision to this end came following a meeting between the stakeholders — representative of the Finance Division, who attended the meeting, assured of considering the MoC-recommended incentive facility — which is subsequent to reviewing applications from the accessory makers’ body of the Bangladesh Garments Accessories and Packaging Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGAPMEA).
