Amidst the ongoing electricity shortage in the country, which has led the authorities to resort to planned power cuts, Bangladesh Government has fixed staggered weekly holidays for different industrial areas across the country.
The Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments (DIFE) has recently issued a notification in this regard, adding the step has been taken to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the factories concerned and this (staggered holidays) will remain unchanged till further notice.
Meanwhile, as per reports, entrepreneurs have called upon the Government to rollback the move even if many, reportedly, added long power outages in the name of the staggered holidays will hamper their machinery and production system.
