Bangladesh, it seems, is battling another bout of gas crisis with possibilities of serious ramifications on the country’s industries.
According to media reports, which cited information from the relevant ministry, Bangladesh is facing a shortage of 100 million cubic feet of gas per day and that at a time when the industries are making a turnaround from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This has, reportedly, hit hard production in the industrial sectors even if production in many factories has already halved.
The export-oriented industries of the country, especially the readymade garment sector, have, reportedly, expressed apprehensions that due to crisis work has taken a hit and it might not be possible to deliver goods on time.
