Alliance for Bangladesh Worker Safety has unveiled its 18-month report – providing information about the corrective measures taken by the organization to ensure and certify employees’ safety. The report states that 100 per cent factories in the country are inspected and 19 factories are partially or fully closed of the 1,500+ inspected. Additionally, four Alliance members have introduced innovative supplier financing arrangements, which will provide low-cost loans to help reduce the cost of remediation. Also, the Alliance has trained about 1.2 million workers under the Basic Fire Safety Training Program and has initiated comprehensive training programs for security guards at more than 600 factories, focusing on fire safety, and roles and responsibilities of security guards during an emergency.
