Eight officials of Crystal Industrial Bangladesh Private Ltd., a garment factory, were reportedly injured in an attack by workers, who were protesting for their 14-point demand, including congenial work environment and higher production rate and bonus at the factory premises at Sreepur in Gazipur.
Agitated workers first confined all the staff to the factory by locking the main gate from inside. Staff were released around 3:00 pm after they assured the workers of fulfilling all their demands including installing sufficient fans at every section. Moreover, workers did not let any police official or journalist enter the factory neither talked to anyone. Factory management also did not make any comment on the matter and declare the factory closed.
