Moving one step further, the Government has removed restriction on export of PPE medical coveralls & 2/3 ply surgical masks & allowed export of N-95 and equivalent masks under monthly quota.
The 2/3 ply surgical masks and medical coveralls are now freely exportable and 5 million N-95 masks can be exported every month.
DGFT announced this and issued a notification mentioning that PPE medical coveralls are freely exportable. N-95/FFP 2 masks or its equivalent is now allowed with monthly export quota of 5 million units.
Reacting positively on this, industry is of the view that though it is a delayed decision it brings hope, provided custom department does not create any issue as there were some negative experience recently.

It is pertinent to mention here that PPE manufacturers are facing low demand in domestic market and, due to various hurdles, export of the same has also not been growing as per the expectations.
