Tommy Hilfiger is joining forces with Hong Kong-based Redress for leading sustainable design competition, the Redress Design Award 2024.
By 15th March 2024, the deadline for applications, budding designers from around the world are encouraged to submit their circular and sustainable fashion designs.
The first-place winner of the Redress Design Award 2024 will collaborate with the Tommy Hilfiger design team on a sustainable design project for retail, earning invaluable experience in the industry and expanding their understanding of sustainable fashion.
“Accelerating the transition to circular fashion by educating designers and consumers” is the mission statement of the environmental non-governmental organisation Redress, which has its focus on Asia.
The primary sponsor of the prize is the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), through Create Hong Kong (CreateHK).
Christina Dean, Founder of Redress, said, “Fashion is one of the world’s most polluting industries. Left unabated, pollution and waste is set to worsen. We urgently need to accelerate circular fashion, which is the best way to let fashion thrive without costing the earth.”
Under its ‘Wastes Nothing and Welcomes All’ slogan, PVH Corp.-owned Tommy Hilfiger is characterised as having a “decades-long track record and commitment to making fashion more sustainable and inclusive”.
