The six-month collaboration between SU.RE (Sustainable Resolution) and the British Council concluded this week, presenting actionable sustainability roadmaps for the fashion industry. Focused on fostering international partnerships, the initiative created a platform for exchanging ideas and tackling key challenges in the fashion value chain.
Delegates from SU.RE, along with experts from the UK and Copenhagen, worked together to address pressing issues such as sustainable packaging, innovative materials, employee welfare, and carbon footprint reduction. The final session showcased transformative strategies, underscoring SU.RE’s dedication to driving sustainability within the Indian apparel sector.
This collaboration also connected SU.RE with The New Landscapes grantees, an India-UK enterprise consortium, facilitating innovative cross-border solutions. Retailers and startups joined forces to create synergies that enhance the sustainability framework across the industry.
Led by the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI), Reliance Brands Limited (RBL), the United Nations in India, and the Ministry of Textiles, SU.RE represents India’s largest voluntary commitment to sustainable fashion. This partnership further reinforced SU.RE’s mission to champion responsible business practices.
