
Flokser, Turkey-based leather and suede producer has developed SERTEX – an innovative synthetic leather fabric with 70 per cent renewable content made from bio-based materials from DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products and BioAmber. The manufacturer claims that the new synthetic leather performs better with improved scratch resistance and a softer hand as compared to currently available synthetic leathers made from petroleum-derived chemicals. The company is also known for first in Turkey phthalate free artificial leather polyurethane systems.
BioAmber claims that this new eco-friendly artificial leather fabric demonstrates the performance that bio-based materials can offer in technically challenging applications.
