
SDL Atlas, world’s leading provider of textile testing equipment, laboratory products, consumables, and service for the fabric, apparel, yarn, and fibre industries has upgraded its three core laboratory instruments — the Martindale Abrasion and Pilling Tester, the Rotawash Colorfastness Tester and ICI Pilling and Snagging Tester, now known as the RotaPill Pilling and Snagging Tester. These innovative instruments have enhanced and swanky designs that make them user-friendly and productive.
SDL Atlas’s instruments have been improved with new high-tech touch screen controllers that make all functions and popular test methods accessible in just one or two touches. These full-colour displays also feature a multi-lingual interface with display options in English, Chinese, Spanish and Turkish.

Commenting on the machines, Chuck Lane, President, SDL Atlas said, “Not only are the Martindale, Rotawash and RotaPill some of the most attractive textile testers on the market, they are also some of the most technologically advanced.”
The instruments, Martindale, Rotawash and RotaPill, have also all been modernised with a lustrous new look. The Martindale’s new design now incorporates a storage rack for the light weight motion plate, allowing quicker changes of abradent.
While, Rotawash Colorfastness Tester’s sophisticated new design features stainless steel to provide years of reliable service in a wet environment. Rotawash washpots, available in an 8 or 12 washpot model, are handy and decreases instrument downtime.
RotaPill is yet another attraction with its contemporary, clean look that has magnetic cork-lined plates, which eases the procedure of changing the cork. The new plates can also accommodate snagging points which eliminates the need for a second set of boxes dedicated for snagging. Available with either 2 or 4 stations, the attractive, base drives can also accommodate the octagonal snagging drum and the M&S drum.
