Singapore-based resale marketplace, Reflaunt and DHL Supply Chain have announced a strategic partnership with the goal of improving fashion resale. This collaboration underscores the shared dedication of both companies to excellence and sustainability.
A significant challenge in the resale industry is the difficulty in achieving large-scale global operations due to inconsistent infrastructure and high costs associated with acquiring and digitizing inventory. The primary objective of this alliance is to address these challenges by combining scalability, infrastructure enhancement, and cost management.
Reflaunt serves as a crucial partner for brands and retailers, offering global operations and resale infrastructure to facilitate the return of customers’ luxury wardrobes. The process involves inspecting and valuing each item, facilitating resale, and enhancing customer loyalty through shopping credit rewards. By engaging various stakeholders across the value chain, such as retailers, resale marketplaces, recycling experts, supply chain traceability providers, and repair services; Reflaunt has built a network that reaches over 250 million second-hand shoppers worldwide.
The company provides two specialised services to meet diverse brand requirements: Concierge, tailored for luxury brands and retailers, and Takeback, suitable for fashion brands prioritising customer loyalty. These services are integrated into DHL Supply Chain’s warehouse operations to ensure a seamless customer experience.
Stephanie Crespin, the Founder & CEO of Reflaunt, expresses enthusiasm for the partnership with DHL, highlighting the potential for creating a circular supply chain. By offering end-to-end solutions such as fulfillment, returns management, resale operations, and recycling, Reflaunt brings expertise to supply chain operators, with DHL as a valuable partner.
Currently, an estimated £ 1.65 trillion worth of fashion items are sitting unused in customers’ closets. The challenge of acquiring, processing, and selling this inventory is a significant hurdle for fashion brands and resale platforms. Reflaunt’s reach extends to over 30 platforms, including renowned names like Poshmark, Vestiaire Collective, Rebelle, eBay, Level Shoes, Yoox, and Saks OFF 5th.
In this collaboration, DHL Supply Chain assumes responsibility for managing the entire logistics process from start to finish. This includes handling items received from customers’ residences, conducting inspections, grading items, photographing them, digitally entering data into Reflaunt’s technology platform, as well as core logistics functions like inventory management, storage, order processing, and distribution.
