After apparel trade bodies and companies, now fashion institutes are also coming forward to support the Government in the fight against the pandemic.
In this regard, a Covid care centre has been started at NIFT-TEA Knitwear Fashion Institute, Tirupur. The institute is promoted by Tiruppur Exporters’ Association (TEA).
The centre was recently inaugurated by M.P. Saminathan, Minister for Information & Publicity and N. Kayalvizhi Selvaraj, Minister for Adi Dravidar Welfare.
Raja M. Shanmugham, President, TEA has informed that the institute has set up a 200 bed facility with all basic amenities.
In addition, TEA’s advisory committee member K. Kandasamy has donated 25 oxygen concentrators through the Lions Club to the facility.
It is pertinent to mention that across India, many companies and trade bodies are coming forward with their various initiatives.

Apart from this, Tirupur Exporters Forum (TEF) is also aggressively working on a similar track and is in the process to start such a facility. Many exporters are giving donation for such noble causes.
