The retail chain N Brown has announced that it would switch out its plastic packaging for one that is “contamination-free.” To cut down on plastic usage across all of its brands, the parent company of JD Williams, Jacamo, and Simply Be announced that it will be using Polymax powered by HydropolTM.
Polymax can be recycled with paper, plastic, metal, or food, the group claims, and it can be disposed of in recycling bins “where it will dissolve as part of the process without the risk of damaging or polluting the environment” or in consumers’ black bins, where “it will safely biodegrade.”
After Polymax is implemented throughout the company, which should be finished by the end of 2025, N Brown also expects its use of traditional plastic to decrease by 44 per cent.
“We take very seriously minimising our environmental impact while providing our customers with a high-quality product experience,” stated Sarah Welsh, CEO of retail at N Brown Group, in a statement.
“Since packaging accounts for a sizable amount of the plastic used in all aspects of our business, it has always been a crucial area for innovation on our part,” she added.
