Uttar Pradesh Government is actively creating awareness amongst the women of state about their safety and social upliftment. For this, various sessions are being organised across the state.
One such awareness programme was conducted in the leading apparel export house CTA Apparels, Noida, which also saw participation from labour department’s senior officials.
DK Sharma, AGM-HR, explained about various benefits and privileges enacted in various acts, like Equal Remuneration Act-1976, The Maternity Benefit Act-1961 amended in 2017 and The factories Act-1948 to safeguard the interests of female workers.
Addressing the assembly, Dy. Labour Commissioner PK Singh explained about various schemes, introduced by the UP Government for the welfare of workers and also explained the procedure of availing benefits under various schemes like Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Puraskar Rashi Yojana, Jyotiba Phule Kanyadan Yojna, Harish Chandra Mritak Ashrit Sahayata Yojana and Dhondopant Antyeshti Sahayata.
Women workers were urged to raise their voice whenever and wherever they face any discrimination or any kind of harassment.
Labour enforcement officers Hans Raj, Suresh Singh and Raj Kumar also addressed the meeting and spoke at length about the benefits for females. During the meeting, other senior officers of units were also present.
Good number of women workers benefitted through this awareness programme.
