Manoj Arora, a senior environmental, social and governance (ESG) and corporate responsibility professional, has been appointed Head of Sustainability at Gokaldas Exports Ltd, marking a significant leadership move within the apparel manufacturing sector.
Arora joins the company after a two-year tenure as Vice President – ESG and CSR at Pearl Global Industries Ltd, where he had been associated for a total of nine years. Over the course of his career, he has accumulated more than 25 years of experience spanning sustainability, corporate responsibility, human resources, and governance across global organisations.
Arora has established a track record of integrating ESG frameworks into core business strategies, with a focus on delivering measurable environmental and social outcomes. His expertise includes stakeholder engagement, sustainability reporting frameworks such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting (BRSR), as well as leading cross-functional teams to advance responsible and inclusive business practices.
In an exclusive comment to Apparel Resources, Arora said that Gokaldas Exports had built a strong reputation not only for high-quality products but also for its commitment to ethical standards and responsible business conduct. He added that what particularly excited him was that sustainability within the organisation was not merely a strategic priority, but an integral part of its ethos and day-to-day operations.
He said, “I am delighted to join Gokaldas Exports Limited and take on the responsibility of leading sustainability initiatives at a time when the industry is undergoing a meaningful transformation.”
The appointment comes at a time when Indian apparel exporters are increasingly strengthening ESG capabilities to align with evolving global compliance requirements and stakeholder expectations.
