Leading producer of wood-based specialty fibres worldwide, Lenzing Group, has announced a global partnership with fashion label Diane von Furstenberg (DVF) to introduce TENCEL™ and LENZING™ ECOVERO™ branded fibres manufactured from sustainably managed wood sources to the mainstream fashion market.
The partnership allows these resource-efficiently produced fibres to make a substantial contribution to DVF’s signature line of daily wear and carefully chosen accessories. The latest collections, which highlight the corresponding fibre brands, are already offered in DVF’s online store and international retail locations. Collections featuring both fibre brands will be released starting in Q3 of 2024.
By adding Lenzing’s fibres to its collections and adopting their resource-efficient manufacture, which opens up countless creative options, DVF is now making a bigger impact. Given that Lenzing’s TENCEL™ and LENZING™ ECOVERO™ branded fibres have received certification from the EU Ecolabel for environmental excellence, the partnership will help elevate DVF’s iconic design aesthetic by producing clothing items that combine comfort and style with preferable sustainability performance.
Since January of this year, DVF collections have featured a large number of garment items featuring TENCELTM and LENZINGTM ECOVEROTM trademarked fibres, which are widely recognised for their versatility in design and usage. This is due in part to their support for rich colours in fabrics, breathability, and softness.
“We are thrilled to partner with Lenzing to bring sustainable fashion to the forefront of the industry,” said Jessie Chen, DVF Global Strategic partner and CEO of Greater China. “By integrating Lenzing’s signature specialty fibers2 into our designs, we are taking a significant step towards driving meaningful change and inspiring a shift towards conscious fashion choices.”
“We are delighted to collaborate with DVF to bring resource-efficient materials made from sustainably managed wood sources1 to mainstream fashion,” said Harold Weghorst, Senior Director of Marketing and Branding, Global Textiles Business, Lenzing AG.
