The London College of Fashion has announced a partnership with Common Objective, a new sustainable fashion platform that enables students to work with buyers, suppliers and brands that practice ethical fashion.
Launched in 2016 as an extension to the Ethical Fashion Forum, Common Objective business network that works with the aim of “building successful businesses, with a positive impact for people and the environment”. The initiative has been backed by several key players of the industry like Vivienne Westwood, Christopher Raeburn and Roland Mouret.
The technology being used in the initiative has the ability to match members with the resources they require in the most sustainable way possible. The higher search rankings are given to the business modules that are scored with highest sustainability standards and thus, they receive more buyer connections.
About 6000 staff members and students will register themselves as members under this collaboration with London College of Fashion. This will in turn give them better access to ethical business set-ups while giving these ethical luxury firms fresh talent to work with.
Harold Tillman, co-founder of Common Objective, said that, “We are a strong believer in supporting all fashion businesses to adopt more sustainable principles.”
Common Objective has previously teamed up with Fashion SVP, Fashion Revolution, Pure London and LCF’s Centre for Sustainable Fashion.
