Re-Born Global, an Israel-based platform for a circular economy in textile, unveils Re-Born Textiles – a circular management system for textile waste.
The Re-Born Textiles is the flagship project that offers solution based on three-pillar system including Re-Use, Re-Make and Re-Cycle.
In Re-Use, the discarded clothes in new or almost new condition are returned to retail while in Re-Make the clothes and textiles are up-cycled into new textile products. In Re-Cycle, the clothes are recycled and used for other industries like automobile and construction.
The pilot programme will be taking place in Kfar Saba where almost 100 women from throughout the country have taken part in the course to learn about the challenges and solution for the fashion and textile industry.
They will also learn about textile sorting, management and second-hand marketing techniques.
German Embassy in Israel is another key supporter for the same. The project was co-founded by Revital Nadiv and Viktoria Kanar with aim to create a solution to tackle the textile waste that otherwise contributes to the landfill waste.
Furthermore, Israel is committed to the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals agenda put forth by the United Nations. The agenda includes promotion and advancement of circular economy, sustainable cities, responsible consumption and production, and climate action.
