Lennart Bernhoft has been named the new chief operating officer (COO) of the Global Fashion Agenda (GFA), the non-profit organisation said. Bernhoft, who attended the GFA’s inaugural Copenhagen Fashion Summit in 2009, called his appointment “a full-circle moment.”
In his new position, Bernhoft will collaborate with the group to further sustainable initiatives, bring the fashion sector together, and fortify GFA’s established base. As COO, he oversees the Global Fashion Summit’s operations and is responsible for financial operations, strategy execution, corporate governance and program management.
In his current role at GFA, Bernhoft draws on his recent experience as the head of operations at the Danish wine cellar Theis Vine. He formerly held the positions of CEO of fashion brand Mads Nørgaard, COO of jewellery firm Design Letters, and co-founder of travel bag manufacturer Projectkin.
During his seven years in China, India, and Southeast Asia, he also developed a thorough awareness of global fashion trends and customer behaviour, according to the statement. In addition to serving as sourcing director for VF Corporation in Belgium during this time, he concentrated on creating sustainable supply chains for clothing firms like IC Group.
