Held every two years, Knit-Tech organized by Hi-Tech International Trade Fair India Limited has established itself as a much awaited technology event for the Tirupur Knitwear Industry. The 12th edition of the fair, one of the biggest events in Asia for the knitting industry, is set to roll out at the Hi-Tech Tirupur Exhibition Centre at Tirumurugan Poondi, Tirupur, from 22nd to 25th February 2013.
Almost all the technology providers for the knitting industry, starting from circular and flat knitted fabric to fully finished garment stage, are participating in the event. There are around 400 stalls and as of now more than 60% of the stalls are booked by overseas clients from Germany, Italy, China, Taiwan, Singapore, USA, Japan and Korea. With live demonstrations, the fair will give an opportunity to the industry to evaluate what best suits their needs. “As a value-added feature we are also conducting high profile fashion shows and several other seminars by eminent personalities,” informs M A Rayappan, organizer of the fair. The fashion shows supported by NIFT- TEA fashion college, Tirupur, will see around 20 colleges from all over India participating.
The major focus of the fair will be on solar power generation, as the industry in Tamil Nadu is facing severe power crisis for a very long time. Though the State Government is taking several measures to tackle the shortage, Knit-Tech has invited experts in the field of solar power generation to create awareness on alternate sources of energy and also update the industry on latest developments in the area.
Another interesting value add are the special seminars wherein international brand owners from Baltiboi, Voltas, Mayer & Cie, Terrott, Santoni S.p.A, Fong’s, Brozzoli, Canler, Unitex, Tajima, Juki, Kansai Special, Brother, Sing Ling, Golden Falcon, Pailung, Ramson-Veit, Dilmenler – Turkey, Nuva Machines and Tony Machines will be participating. “The experts will share new directions in technology in the various areas of knit manufacturing,” informs Rayappan.
The fair will also see exhibitors from textile machines, HTHP dyeing machines, hydro extractors, printing machines and all accessories manufacturers and dealers, besides a few with office automation. “We have made elaborate arrangements to give international quality service to participants, visitors, media people and service providers, like drinking water, parking, restaurants, rest rooms, logistics, communication, train and air ticket bookings, lodging facilities,’ says Rayappan. Approved by the ITPO, overseas clients can bring in machines without paying import duties initially, and if the machine is booked by a client at the fair then the machine manufacturers can pay tax afterwards, otherwise they can take back their machines without any duty.
