Evitex Apparels Limited, a subsidiary of the Evince Group, has announced that it has earned the coveted LEED v4.1 Gold Certification for Operations and Maintenance. This milestone underscores the company’s unwavering commitment to sustainability and operational excellence within Bangladesh’s rapidly expanding ready-made garment (RMG) industry.
Developed by the US Green Building Council (USGBC), the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification is a globally recognized standard for environmentally responsible building practices. The v4.1 Gold certification specifically recognizes existing facilities that demonstrate outstanding performance in energy efficiency, water conservation, waste management, indoor environmental quality, and sustainable transportation.
Bangladesh is home to an impressive 248 LEED-certified RMG factories, including 105 with Platinum ratings and 129 with Gold ratings. Notably, nine of the world’s top ten highest-rated LEED factories are located in Bangladesh, with 68 of the top 100 facilities situated in the country, highlighting Bangladesh’s prominent role in eco-conscious manufacturing.
Evince Group’s dedication to sustainability is further exemplified by Evitex Dress Shirt Limited, another group concern, which holds a LEED v4.1 Platinum Certification. The move towards greener operations offers multiple benefits, including reduced operating costs through energy and water savings, enhanced building value, improved indoor air quality for workers’ health and productivity, and a bolstered brand reputation.
Evitex Apparels Limited’s achievement reflects Bangladesh’s growing reputation as a global hub for sustainable fashion production and signals a resilient, environmentally-conscious future for the industry.
