The European Outdoor Group (EOG), a company that represents the European outdoor industry, recently partnered with 1% for the Planet (NGO) to drive circular goals and sustainability initiatives in the outdoor clothing and textile sector.
With this collaboration, while EOG has become an environmental partner, the NGO 1% for the Planet has cemented its position as the associate member of the EOG. Adding to the same, this association will offer both the platforms – sustainability insights and access to newer funding channels for their circular goals.
In addition to the partnership objectives, the 1% annual revenue commitment channelled by the outdoor brands for the EOG-driven sustainability activities, will be utilised for initiatives including responsible manufacturing and production, sustainability awareness and decarbonisation across the sector.
Further to the 150 (approximately) outdoor brands represented by EOG, this partnership will look at encouraging more companies to take responsible sustainable action through joint communication campaigns. Speaking on this, both Kate Williams (CEO, 1% for the Planet) and David Ekelund (EOG President) expressed their enthusiasm over this partnership and talked about their joint dedication to making sustainability strides.
