Echotex hosted a delegation from Bangladesh Bank and the French Development Agency (AFD – Agence Française de Développement) to assess the company’s recently built Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) system as part of the SREUP project.
As a public financial organisation that carries out France’s development policy, AFD funds initiatives that encourage responsible business practices and sustainable growth across the globe.
An important turning point in Echotex’s dedication to sustainable manufacturing and water management is the ZLD system. Through a six-stage Reverse Osmosis system, the sophisticated configuration guarantees that all wastewater is cleaned and reused during the production process, establishing total water circularity and preventing any discharge into the environment.
At a time when more than half of Bangladesh’s textile industries rely on extracting groundwater, Echotex’s project shows how industrial innovation can help preserve important natural resources. Additionally, the project supports the company’s advancement towards Net Zero Water status, which is in line with national and international sustainability objectives.
