A trade delegation from the Netherlands is set to visit Bangladesh from 10th-13th February 2025, as part of the Netherlands Circular Textile Trade Mission. Comprising 18 companies, including representatives from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, apparel brands, impact investors, and firms specialising in traceable solutions for circular fashion, the mission aims to enhance business-to-business collaboration within Bangladesh’s garment and textile sector.
Organised by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Bangladesh and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), with support from partners such as Export Partner, Clean and Unique, BGMEA, and the Bangladesh Apparel Exchange (BAE), this mission marks the first initiative under the Netherlands Circular Textile programme.
The trade mission aims to bridge technology gaps and cultivate strong business relations between Bangladeshi manufacturers and Dutch companies. Through collaborations, capacity building, and innovative practices, the programme seeks to promote circular practices across the textile value chain, enhance textile waste management, improve labour conditions, and maximise recycling efforts.
The delegation will participate in the 6th Sustainable Apparel Forum (SAF) 2025, organised by the Bangladesh Apparel Exchange. This edition of SAF aims to position Bangladesh as a leader in responsible sourcing, addressing critical industry challenges while fostering innovation and knowledge sharing.
In addition to attending the forum, the delegation will visit BGMEA and tour RMG and textile factories in the Savar and Gazipur areas, further promoting trade and investment that benefits local communities, creates jobs, and stimulates business growth.
