Prof. (Dr.) Roopak Vasishtha has been appointed as the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Apparel Training and Design Centre (ATDC). He succeeds Dr. Vijay Kumar Mathur in this position.
ATDC is a training institution with over 100 centres across India, offering programmes ranging from certificate and diploma courses to undergraduate-level education in the apparel sector. Since its inception, the organisation has trained more than 490,000 students, contributing to employment and self-employment opportunities, particularly for women.
Dr. Vasishtha brings over 40 years of experience in human resources, education, and skill development. Prior to this role, he served as Director General and CEO of the Apparel, Made-Ups and Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council (AMHSSC) under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India. He has also held various roles in the automobile and healthcare sectors.
