Italian high-fashion retailer Diesel, famous for its denim apparel, has joined hands with supermodel Naomi Campbell to create a charitable collection, all the proceeds of which will go to refugee kids. The collection is called ‘Child at Heart’ and will support Campbell’s charity Fashion For Relief which is dedicated to the welfare of children in need, all over the world and has raised over £ 4.5 million since its inception in 2005.

The artwork for this t-shirt and hoodies collection features artwork designed by children who go to the Diesel HQ kindergarten in Italy. Nicola Formichetti, Creative Director of Diesel said that the children, “were very excited to participate in a project which, on top of contributing to a good cause, was a fun moment for the kids to be creative and think about symbols of love, like the heart and the ladybird”.
The collaboration took shape when the fashion icon presented the Award of Courage to Renzo Rosso, Owner of Diesel and President of Only The Brave foundation, at the amFAR gala in 2015, where Campbell expressed her inclination towards working together for a common cause. Rosso added, “Diesel always has, and always will be a cultural commentator tackling relevant issues. The children of today are our future and Child at Heart is about helping the children in need and giving a hand to those who are left behind. More than ever, we want the world to know that love and togetherness are crucial in creating a society we all want to live in, and the future we all deserve.”
The collection’s campaign is shot by Giampaolo Sgura and shows Campbell and Formichetti modelling the collection together. Big budget models like Barbara Palvin, Matt McMahon, Molly Blair and Wang Chen Ming have also lent a helping hand to the campaign in support of the initiative.
