Dhaka is all set to organise the first-ever Bangladesh Circular Economy Summit on Thursday, 15th June.
The summit comprises an opening plenary session, a roundtable and a fireside chat, four plenary sessions, three presentations and three keynotes, and is being organised by Bangladesh Apparel Exchange, in collaboration with Laudes Foundation and in partnership with P4G.
The organisers of the event underlined in the circular economy scenario, there was a choice to keep resources in use for as long as possible and extract and harvest the maximum value from the products whilst in use even if the summit aims to find opportunities for the shift from linear to circular business model so as to foster collaborations between the stakeholders concerned with the aim to promote circular economy in Bangladesh.
It may be mentioned here circular economy is gaining strong momentum in view of the so-called adverse impact of the linear economy even as the textile and apparel sector continues to be one the worst polluters that has experts and environmentalists calling for embracing circular economy in all its essence and spirit.
