Customers across the globe, including India, are very much aware of sustainability, particularly in the textile and apparel industry, and the same will grow further.
Notably, many Indian companies are aggressively working towards becoming more sustainable; in fact, sustainability has become inevitable for every stakeholder of the fashion industry.
This was the major outcome of an interesting webinar ‘Innovative Sustainable Solutions in Textile Value Chain’ that was organised recently by North India Section of Textile Institute (NISTI).
Sreedhar PR, VP KG Fabriks (Denim Division); Gaurav Agarwal, AGM, Aditya Birla Group, Birla Cellulose and Manish Bharati, Business Director, International Business Head, Raymond Ltd. shared in detail how their organisations are covering all aspects of sustainability and how they have really gained due to these efforts.
All the aforementioned companies are covering almost every aspect of sustainability and are aggressively expanding on all fronts to support the environment.
What’s noteworthy is that several professionals not only participated in the webinar, but also raised many interesting questions.
Industry experts also highlighted that fast fashion has been the enemy of sustainability and a big chunk of consumers are not only concerned about post-consumer waste but also post-industrial waste.
