Textile-to-textile recycling innovation company Circ, recently announced a collaboration with the European-based fashion retail company Zalando, to launch its first set of garments using recycled Circ’s Lyocell.
With the fabric developed from repurposed polycotton textile waste, this joint partnership resulted in the introduction of new Anna Field pieces, which is Zalando’s exclusive brand. The garment manufactured consisted of pieces like a dress and blouse and they were crafted from the 100 per cent Circ Lyocell. The garments featured stone-washed and dark blue tones, and the partnership reflected on Zalando’s commitment to providing sustainable solutions and making a strong case for the closed-loop supply chain.
In this regard, Aylin Dobberstein, VP of Private Label & Product Supply at Zalando said that with this partnership, the brand got an opportunity to utilise innovative material into the designs and Dobberstein also mentioned that with Circ x Anna Field collection, the brand has furthered its goal of promoting textile-to-textile recycling.
As such, Circ Lyocell is among the pioneering brands that promotes the lyocell fabric, which is considered quite a difficult material to process. In addition, with Circ’s initiatives of turning resources into high-quality sustainable materials, the brands as a result, are getting a chance to reduce waste and lower their dependence on virgin resources. Speaking on the same, Peter Majeranowski, CEO of Circ stated that they are on a quest to prove that recycled materials can be as effective as virgin fabrics, in terms of quality and style.
