Burberry continues its journey towards sustainability with the launch of its Remake capsule collection for childrenswear. This festive-ready collection features over 30 styles crafted from surplus fabrics and yarns from previous collections, highlighting the brand’s commitment to circular design.
The collection includes miniature outerwear, jersey hoodies, sweatshirts, and mouliné knits designed for layering, along with playful reimaginations of iconic Burberry motifs like the duck and Thomas Bear teddy. The duck emblem, inspired by archival designs, adorns ready-to-wear garments and accessories, while the Thomas Bear appears in a new patchwork form to emphasise the circularity theme.
The capsule also incorporates a “multiple owners” label, encouraging garments to be passed down, adding a touch of longevity to its designs. This initiative complements Burberry’s broader sustainability efforts, such as its lab-grown fibre scarf, the Made in UK project, and its collaboration with Vestiaire Collective on resale.
Caroline Laurie, VP of Corporate Responsibility, stated, “Childrenswear is part of our tradition of workmanship, and we are excited to provide this unique collection for the holiday season. By turning leftover materials into fresh designs, it demonstrates our dedication to circularity.”
The collection is part of Burberry’s ‘Wrapped in Burberry’ campaign, celebrating the season with a series of portraits and videos.
