With the aim to try enhance competitiveness in the readymade garment sector of Bangladesh, the country’s apex garment makers body – the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) – has undertaken an initiative to set up ‘Center of Innovation, Efficiency and OSH’ for its member factories.
In connection with the same, the BGMEA on 14 December (Monday) inked a deal (Memorandum of Understanding- MoU) with Aamra Resources Limited (ARL).
This was underlined in a press communique issued by the garment makers’ body, which mentioned the CEO of Aamra Resources Limited Sohel Ahmed and BGMEA President Dr. Rubana Huq signed the MoU on behalf of their respective entities.
According to reports, as part of the deal, Aamra Resources Limited will provide a software facility at the BGMEA centre.
It may be mentioned here that since 1987 Aamra Resources Limited has been serving the industry by offering technology solutions and it reportedly works with a network of over 1,000 textiles and garment factories.
