
The President of BGMEA Faruque Hassan has expressed the apex garment makers’ body’s willingness to support the slum children in capital city Dhaka when eminent Rabindra Sangeet exponent Rezwana Choudhury Bannya recently approached the trade body to help in nurturing the slum children with education and life-changing competencies and skills.
According to reports, Rezwana Choudhury, who is Chairperson of Shurer Dhara and team leader of the Music for Development (MfD), reportedly informed the BGMEA Chair about the objectives and activities of MfD, a project of Shurer Dhara, aimed at changing the lives of children growing up in Dhaka slums even as Faruque on his part expressed the interest of the trade association in supporting the same. He emphasised on the various initiatives and activities of the BGMEA taken up to support the backward sections of society, especially in creating opportunities for higher education for female garment workers.
