To sustain stable working conditions in the apparel industry in the face of persistent obstacles, the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) requested the leaders of the IndustriALL Bangladesh Council (IBC) to collaborate.
BGMEA President Khandoker Rafiqul Islam presided over the meeting, which was attended by BGMEA Vice President (Finance) Md Nasir Uddin, and directors Md Mohiuddin Rubel, Md Nurul Islam, Saifuddin Siddiquie Sagar, and Md Rezaul Alam (Miru).
The participants stated that the events of late have had a significant influence on factory operations and export-import trade, which has resulted in financial challenges, including a cash flow crisis.
Manufacturers are putting a lot of effort into overcoming these obstacles so that supply chains and import-export operations can continue.
Given the current circumstances, the BGMEA has approached the IBC leaders for their assistance in preventing labor unrest and worker blockades over trivial concerns, so guaranteeing that the general public is not harmed.
The focus of the conference was on a three-pronged strategy for handling internal manufacturing issues.
BGMEA President Khandoker Rafiqul Islam stated, “If there is any problem somewhere, we will have to work together.”
He called for cooperation to address these issues. Colonel Mohiuddin noted that while demands may arise, they should be addressed collaboratively.
The meeting ended with a unanimous decision by all parties to cooperate in order to maintain law and order in the apparel business by mediating disagreements between employers and employees over salaries or other matters through dialogue.
