
In view of the rising commodity prices amidst the current global economic situation, Bangladesh Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi has underlined the demand of readymade garments workers for salary hike was logical.
This is as per media reports, which said the minister underlined this while addressing the 16th bi-annual conference of the National Garment Workers Federation-2022 as the chief guest.
“The workers’ demand for wage hike is justified,” reportedly, said Tipu Munshi while, reportedly, adding due to the Russia-Ukraine war, prices of daily essentials have increased on the world market and also in Bangladesh, which led to the workers’ suffering even as he observed for the wage hike to take place, it was necessary to form a wage commission and conduct a study on the overall aspects of workers’ living costs, product prices and production costs.
