Arket, as part of H&M Group, has launched a new sustainability initiative, Arket Archive, a resale platform for its previously owned apparel and accessories.
Arket Archive, set to debut on 23rd November in the UK and Sweden, has an assortment of second-hand, ready-to-wear, shoes, accessories and kidswear from the brand.
The company hopes that through the resale programme, “beautiful pieces from the wardrobes of the brand’s community will be matched with new owners, giving Arket designs a chance to find a second, third or even fourth home”. This initiative aligns with the company’s policy “to offer functional essentials designed to be used and loved for a long time”. The sellers can earn cash or vouchers for future Arket purchases through this opportunity.
“We want to encourage a circular mindset and serve members of our community, for whom buying second-hand comes as nat
urally as buying new. We design for a long life, so offering a resale platform exclusive for Arket items makes perfect sense to us. We hope to integrate resale as a natural part of our customer experience”, stated Ville Klemming, Head of Growth & Sustainability at Arket.
Arket, in partnership with Archive, a prominent technology platform for branded resale, aims to reinforce its sustainability pledge. The collaboration emphasizes the brand’s dedication to “contribute to a fashion ecosystem where resources are kept in use for as long as possible”.
