The Department of Environment (DOE) fined the authorities of Fakhruddin Textile Mills Ltd Tk 10 lakh for polluting the environment in Keoa area in Gazipur’s Sreepur upazila. A team of DoE led by Md Alamgir, director (Monitoring & Enforcement) of its Dhaka headquarters, visited the apparel factory and fined the factory authorities after a hearing. Authorities of the company sought an apology and pledged a commitment to take preventive measures.
