The ‘digital factory passport’, an AI-enabled ESG compliance framework, will be created by the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) to improve accountability, transparency and international competitiveness in the nation’s apparel sector.
In this regard, at a meeting on Sunday at the Uttara headquarters of the apparel apex organisation, BGMEA and Digital Bridge Partners (DBP) announced a strategic partnership.
According to a release, the DFP will function as a single digital tool to expedite factory-level data administration and reporting, lessen audit fatigue and boost sustainability performance monitoring effectiveness.
The program will assist factories in meeting the demands of foreign clients by providing a standardised and AI-driven strategy, thereby future-proofing Bangladesh’s standing as a global sourcing hub.
President of BGMEA Mahmud Hasan Khan, speaking on the occasion, stressed on the importance of innovation and digital transformation in the sector’s sustainability journey.
Amongst those attending the meeting were Vice President Vidiya Amrit Khan and Senior Vice President Inamul Haq Khan of the BGMEA. According to the statement, DBP representatives reiterated their dedication to helping the sector achieve more efficiency and transparency through digital solutions.
